The story of All Sons & Daughters begins in 2010 with artist David Leonard (Jackson Waters, NEEDTOBREATHE) wanting to spend less time traveling and more of it in real relationship with his local spiritual community at Journey Church.  David connected with Leslie Jordan, part of the creative staff at the church, and the two began writing songs together, including the popular “All the Poor and Powerless.”

Coming from a musical family and loving it from an early age Luke was sure music would play a huge part of his life. But he never thought he would end up leading people in worship.

Luke began leading worship shortly after arriving in London in 2003 to study music at Trinity College of Music. Throughout his studies he played in the worship Team at church but it was in his small group one night that he was asked to lead for the first time! The regular worship leader had broken her arm and being the only other person to play an instrument he stepped in… As they say ‘the rest is history’.

Continuing to grow and develop under the HTB Student Leadership as well as Tim Hughes and Al Gordon he also began to lead worship on Sundays. Now he works on staff at HTB as Worship Pastor and travels all over the world leading worship with Worship Central and Alpha.

His passion is to use music and lyrics to help people worship God and connect with Him. He has written many songs including ‘Glory in the Highest’ (Worship Central, Lifting High 2009), ‘Spirit Break Out’ (Worship Central, Spirit Break Out 2011) also covered by Kim Walker-Smith (Still Believe 2013), and ‘Ready for You’ (Worship Central, Let It Be Known 2013).

Luke continues to invest himself in the worship life of HTB and the vision of Worship Central: Encounter God, equip the worshiper and empower the local church. He also runs the Worship Central Academy, a part-time course in London designed to train emerging worship leaders.

About Gateway Worship

Gateway Worship, part of Gateway Church located in Southlake, TX (Dallas/Fort Worth), has evolved over the last 10 years. Leading 200 people in its infancy, the worship team now minister to over 24,000 members each week, capturing the sound and songs of the local church. One of today’s fastest growing congregations, Gateway’s gift of worship to God is being echoed in churches across the world.  United with one voice, the aforementioned worship leaders and more than 40 others on the team, are committed to leading the church Body into a place of intimate worship and an understanding of the power of worship; a catalyst for change that helps transform people’s temporary view ofthemselves and God to an intimate exchange between every believer and the Creator of Heaven and earth.  This remains a mission that is more important than the music itself, and one that has become an essential part of Gateway’s culture.
