SARAH KROGER LAUNCHES SPECIAL LENT PRAYER & WORSHIP SERIES

Sarah Kroger invites us into a soothing time of reflection, worship and prayer during the time of Lent.

Week One

“Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
— Joel 2:12

Dear friends, Lent is here.

This season is an invitation to remember our utter dependence on God. To strip away those things that we turn to out of comfort, addiction, self-reliance and return to the only One who can satisfy every single longing of our heart.

I have created a series of night prayer videos designed to be used as a prayer resource. What is Night Prayer? Night Prayer is a part of the Liturgy of the Hours, a form of prayer that marks various hours throughout the day to help us live out the call to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:16). Night Prayer is meant to be said right before going to sleep to offer up the day. It includes an examination of conscience, a hymn, readings, and responses.

Night Prayer has been such a powerful tool for my prayer life. A simple way for me to incorporate a practice of self-awareness and repentance into my daily life. I hope that these videos will be a blessing to you.

Make sure you are subscribed to my YouTube channel for easy access! May this season afflict what’s comfortable and comfort what’s afflicted in us. Come, Lord Jesus.

Into the desert,

Sarah Kroger

WHAT IS NIGHT PRAYER? The Liturgy of the Hours consists of a four-week cycle of biblical readings, songs, prayers of intercession and blessings, separated into morning, evening, daytime, and night prayer. Based in scripture, the Liturgy of the Hours uses many of the same passages Jesus himself would have prayed with. The goal is simple: to sanctify your day with prayer. Night Prayer includes an examination of conscience, a hymn, readings and responses. You can follow along with each reading and response here.
