NEW WORSHIP FRIDAY: REVERE, Thrive Worship, Songs From The Soil & ICF Worship
REVERE, as a collective of passionate worshippers from around the world, prolifically writes and releases songs that bring us back to contemplating the holiness of God. 'Risen Savior (Sing My Soul)' announces a new album to come, introducing it with a new song that carries an uncompromising heart for reverent worship. The phrase "familiarity breeds contempt" dates back to the 5th Century writings of St Augustine, yet this truth still haunts us today. 'Risen Savior' features a powerful personal admonition to "sing my soul, sing out and bless the Lord" in the face of what could become mundane. The new single invites us to trade numbness for life to the fullest, just as the Christian faith is a one of deaths and resurrections, of endings and new beginnings, of transitions from one season to another. REVERE is one of these fresh new starts. An opportunity for us to rediscover the gravity and the weightiness of the death of resurrection of our 'Risen Savior'.
Songs From The Soil release the last single before their debut album, set to release on May 5th. The new song, 'Thanks And Praise', is an upbeat folky tune led by UK singer- songwriters and worship leaders Philippa Hanna and Lucy Grimble. Inspired by Psalm 92 declaring that "it is good to praise the Lord" as well as a piece of Anglican liturgy reflecting this Scripture's heart, the song gathers us in remembrance and worship of God’s faithfulness and worthiness. 'Thanks And Praise' balances both declaration and a reminder, encouraging the listener to take the focus off themselves and instead on the Lord. The new single carries Songs From The Soil’s communal feel in worship as it captures the joyful ambience of the live recording, hinting at the essence of their upcoming album.
ICF Worship introduce their powerful new single, 'Make Us Brave'. The new song from the Zurich, Switzerland-based band is centered around embracing the boundless love of God and fearlessly sharing it with the world. With its dynamic vocals, uplifting lyrics, and catchy melody, 'Make Us Brave' is a faith-building song for the Church of today. A fitting Bible reference at the heart of the new single is 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline." This verse perfectly captures the message of 'Make Us Brave', encouraging listeners to trust in God's love and boldly share it with others.
Thrive Worship release 'Always So Good', a faith-rising song inspired by the story of Joshua 4. The Californian band took on the theme of the altar building that takes place in the Scriptural passage, a sign for generations to be reminded of God’s faithfulness. The new single was birthed as the only appropriate response, one of worshipfully declaring God’s abundant goodness. In a society desperate for truth and hope, Thrive Worship hope to point listeners to the Lord’s unending faithfulness towards us. 'Always So Good' is a song of encouragement and inspiration to create altars of remembrance to show those around us how good God is.
Matt Redman's song 'Son of Suffering' is such a beautiful Easter anthem.
