NEW WORSHIP FRIDAY: REVERE, Faithful & Songs from the Soil

Shepherd

REVERE has been fond of unscripted times of worship since its inception. Their new single, “Shepherd,” is no different. It was captured in a moment of stripped-back worship where a grand piano was brought to the middle of a room, surrounded by people who simply desired to offer their pure adoration to the Lord. “Shepherd” was written by Dwan Hill and was originally introduced on CeCe Winans’ 2021 “Believe for It” album. This new version is led by Hill, who is joined by Johnny Rez and Joseph Espinoza on the bridge, taking the song to a Spanish interlude. This new REVERE title embodies their original mission to bring God’s people close through intimate, hype-less, and genuine worship. “Shepherd” grows from a mellow piano ballad into a joyful song of surrender.

Night Vision

FAITHFUL introduces “Night Vision,” the third single off their upcoming Psalm-inspired album. The song was written from Psalm 74, focusing on the poetic notion stating that both the day and night belong to God, as well as the sentiment that even darkness is not dark to God echoed in Psalm 139. Writer Sarah Macintosh noted that, “People often attribute light and daytime to God, but then darkness and night as time and space outside of God. These Psalms remind us that there is no space or time that is outside of God. [He] is never caught off guard or fumbling about unprepared. God is never worried about what will happen or where provision will come from.” FAITHFUL offers a song that is as smooth as it is catchy, and that can be sung in the night moments of life to comfort us with this truth about God

Live At The Garden

Songs From The Soil announces the release of a new stripped-back worship collection called “Live At The Garden.” The Garden is a new space within the Integrity UK Brighton office dedicated to live taping and filming. It was created to capture organic, unpolished worship songs and BTS, showing the human element in creativity and the live worship process. The ethos is for it to be, like a garden, a living, raw, grounding place where others are also invited.

The new project will unfold over four EPs, starting with a collection from Lucy Grimble presenting fresh folksy versions of five songs from her latest album and other Integrity Music artists that were originally released on YouTube. The heart behind the “Live At The Garden” series carries on what Songs From The Soil was birthed to do, namely reigniting the UK Church’s songbook by creating spaces where new songs of worship might grow.

“Lucy Grimble – Live At The Garden” sets the tone for these songs, which are infused with the flavour of their local context, capturing a return to the land through melody and sung theology.
