NEW WORSHIP FRIDAY: Mission House, Dwan Hill & LIFE Worship

There Is Only One Name

Mission House started out of a community of friends gathered in living rooms and basements. They were simply compelled to sing songs about Jesus together. Since then, they have thrived into a prolific duo, writing and touring songs that ooze with Americana accents and honest lyrics, all geared towards worshipping the Lord. With “Family Nights, Vol. 2: Day For Singing,” they have gone back to their roots, capturing the essence of their early days. Recorded live in Charlotte, North Carolina, the second edition of their Family Nights is as folksy and warm as ever, and features some of the band’s dear friends like Jacob Early, Cecily, Abby Siler, Kierre Bjorn, and Sharlene Provilus. The new album is full of worshipful gratitude despite the last few years holding some of the hardest stories both artists have ever faced. Over 14 songs, including a spoken word, Mission House explores the vibrant highs and harrowing lows of life, whilst keeping their joy and hope in Christ as the glue that holds the family of believers together

Maranatha

Dwan Hill introduces “Maranatha,” a sung prayer of longing for the Lord’s return. Co- written with Ben Shive, the song balances its weighty theme with a meditative and groovy soundscape. With horns and an organ as the sonic backbone, “Maranatha” features a choir, making it a communal song that invites listeners to join in with this prayer. The new single is a creative embodiment of the ultimate joining of heaven and earth, whilst holding the current reality in tension with this promised hope. Hill cleverly reminds us of Christ’s patience for those yet to turn to him and also honestly illustrates the forbearance of believers in waiting for their Savior. Following on from his last single (“Mansion”), this new song is meant to continue bringing fresh expectation in the midst of the trauma and catastrophe in the world at-large. “Maranatha” is a song full of imagery reviving hope that troubles will end, and that we will reign with Christ.

None Like Jehovah

LIFE Worship releases “None Like Jehovah,” a song birthed at the heart of their multicultural expression. The new song emerged in under an hour in one of the worship leader’s kitchen, written alongside two friends who moved to the LIFE Church, UK from Nigeria.

“We were so convinced 'None Like Jehovah' would bless our house [that] we put it into the set before we'd even made the demo, and it has become an anthem of joy for us,” LIFE Worship shared.

“None Like Jehovah” focuses on the names of God and declares the amazing truth that there is none like him. The new single embodies the fresh injection of energy and joy that has been at work in LIFE Worship’s songs.
