NEW WORSHIP FRIDAY: Anchor Hymns, New Life Worship & REVERE
Sing, Sing, Sing - EP OUT NOW!
Anchor Hymns releases their third project, a new EP named “Sing, Sing, Sing.” The title is a nod to the importance of the hymnal tradition – sacred songs that outlast us, inform our theology, and meet us in the face of joy and suffering. Anchor Hymns is all about gathering to honor and join in the lineage of great songs of truth handed down over time, and after two initial projects presenting reimagined versions of Church classics, the collective introduces their first EP of originals. The five new tracks are groovy, folk-driven songs with a timeless feel. Anchor Hymns releases this new project with “By The Savior’s Power” as its featured track, a song meant to serve as a timeless hymn for life, death, and new life with Christ.
"I feel this song is truly important for all those in grief and who have experienced loss to
hope in Christ who can be trusted in and has conquered death," says collective member
Ricky Vazquez
“Sing, Sing, Sing” gathered songwriters and worship leaders from various religious backgrounds, bringing the rich heritage of their tradition into the process. Anchor Hymns’s founder, Andrew Osenga, tells of the three elements at the heart of lasting songs,
“An honest presentation of our collective experience of suffering and doubt, an awareness of how fleeting time is, and God’s faithfulness through both of those things.”
With this in mind, this new project was crafted around a desire of writing songs for the Church to sing for ages to come and be anchored by in the midst of life’s uncertainty
Nobody But You
“Nobody But You” rose from a desire to provide the Church with a song of declaration to cling to in every season. Emerging from New Life Worship, this song started with a simple melody crying out that there is no one higher or more worthy than Jesus. The new single highlights the promise of salvation in Romans 10:13 on an up-tempo, joyful soundscape. New Life Worship deeply believes that songs shape theology, and after noticing a gap in songs of substance that are lively and upbeat but full of rich truth to begin a gathering, “Nobody But You” seeks to gather and inspire the church to plant a stake in the ground of confidence in the Lord and His character.
“The culture around us is fueled with either becoming God or haphazardly choosing gods,” says worship leader Jon Egan. “As Christians, we are marked by the simple truth that we have one God, and we are not it. We have one Savior, and we are dependent upon Him. This is an important message to declare in the world we live. There is no other God but Jesus.”
The team hopes to instill and strengthen faith through this release and remind us of the trustworthiness of God. As the song has become lifegiving and enriching to their local body of believers, New Life Worship is eager to share this Spirit-filled anthem with the world this summer.
Contemple O Reí Da Gloria
Adding to the trio of multilingual releases from REVERE’s upcoming live album, “Contemple O Reí Da Gloria” introduces the Portuguese version of this foundational song. The new single was captured live at the latest REVERE recording in the Fall of 2022, led by Brazilian worship leaders Gabriel Guedes and Gabi Sampaio. Back in 2021, this song was one of the first fruits of the now global movement of worship, which this new international version highlights. Whether in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, REVERE’s unified pursuit of God through this song creates an inviting call to an encounter with the Holy One, making space to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and express His greatness. “Contemple O Reí Da Gloria” carries REVERE’s core desire to inspire the Church to embrace her purpose of wholehearted, selfless, and boundary-breaking worship again.
