NEW WORSHIP FRIDAY: Aaron Williams, Sarah Kroger & LIFE Worship

SIMPLY JESUS

Aaron Williams presents his brand-new single, “Simply Jesus,” featuring SEU Worship’s Chelsea Plank. The release is a mellow song of worship and devotion, embodying the title in lyrics that express Christ’s centrality.

The hook of this song is its simplicity and soothing melody, enticing listeners to join in and worship. Williams’ gift for songs that resonate far and wide in the Church has already been at work with “Abide,” and this new release offers a fresh anthem to be sung.

Williams described the song’s inception as accidental when the power went out during a writing session. Thinking the write was over, he sat with friends Jason Ingram and Amanda Cook, and their conversation led to the idea that “people are simply hungry for Jesus.” From there, the song emerged – co-written by Ingram and Cook – as they pondered Jesus being the answer to humanity’s deepest longings and desires.

“I hope this song can be a beacon calling us back to the simplicity and sufficiency of Christ himself,” explained Williams.

“Simply Jesus” invites the Church into authentic worship with an undivided focus on the Lord.

HUMBLED HEART (acoustic)

Sarah Kroger releases an acoustic version of her song “Humbled Heart” originally introduced on her latest album, “A New Reality.”

With this new take, she offers listeners the opportunity to look at this song from a different angle, coming back to its original integrity. The stripped-back nature of this acoustic single shines a new light on the words said and the prayers prayed through it.

At its core, “Humbled Heart” is a worshipful response of love and surrender when one ponders Christ’s sacrifice of love. With it, Kroger seeks to allow space for listeners to receive something new from the song. “Humbled Heart (Acoustic)” is also an example of how approachable Kroger’s songs are for church communities and worship leaders.

ONE PEOPLE

“One People” is a song by LIFE Worship which captures the heartbeat of unity at work in their church community in Bradford, UK. Moved by the multiple nations and cultures thriving in their context, worship leaders Philippa Hanna, Nate Gardiner, and Isak Peterson set out to write an anthem of togetherness.

Yet, “One People” isn’t just a response to their localised experience, but a call for the Church to unite under one purpose and one God. In a time when the world seems more divided than ever, this song offers a hopeful message for healing and unity. LIFE Worship also emphasise the importance of believers’ shared identity as part of the body of Christ. They hope that this new song can be part of calling the Church back to its core foundation.

Worship leader Philippa Hanna shared, “There is a focus on revival within the UK Church, with lyrics that call for spiritual renewal.” With “One People,” LIFE Worship managed to highlight that theme of revival by lyrically blending fundamentals of the Christian faith with making space for people’s heart cry.

LIFE Worship offers “One People” as an anthem for the global Church. This theologically rich new song is a beacon of harmony to bridge denominational divides and help Christ followers worship in unity and experience revival.
