NEW WORSHIP FRIDAY: Darlene Zschech, FAITHFUL & BRIGHT

Testament

After many years of focusing on different musical endeavours, Darlene Zschech announces the release of a special album titled “Testament,” which is introduced by a brand-new EP of the same name. Stirred by friends and family who reminded her that “Shout to the Lord” had turned 30 years old, she decided to mark this moment with a collection of reimagined legacy songs and new tracks.

“Taking time out to put together this offering seems almost indulgent, yet I have sensed in my spirit that I’m doing exactly what God is asking me to do,” Zschech shares.

The new EP introduces five songs, including the brand-new title track, and includes special features such as Martin Smith, SVRCINA, the Australian Christian Orchestra, and Zschech’s youngest daughter, Zoe Cameron. Opening with the beloved “Shout to the Lord,” which resonates with a fresh touch, the new EP captures the sound of a new season in Zschech’s ongoing contribution to the worship of the Church.

Send Rescue

FAITHFUL releases a new song titled “Send Rescue.” Inspired by Psalm 69 and its overarching cry for help, writers Taylor Leonhardt, Baylor Wilson, and Ainsley Britain developed the theme into an encouragement for those on a journey with mental health particularly. “Anxiety and depression can make you feel like your own worst enemy,” Leonhardt shares, “There’s no shame in being stuck in a moment we can’t get out of ourselves; this song is an encouragement to turn to the God.” Inviting listeners to sit in that space with the psalmist, FAITHFUL created a song that gives language for times of real crisis. Led by Sarah Kroger and Taylor Leonhardt, “Send Rescue” is a mellow song that reminds us of the presence of God in the midst of life’s storms.

Way Maker (Remix)

BRIGHT recently released his brand-new version of “Way Maker,” originally written by Osinachi Okoro (Sinach), as a remix of the well-known worship song. With vocals by Leeland and a syncopated melody, BRIGHT took the foundation of this song and created a recording that connects with people beyond Sunday services: “I want the truth of who Jesus is to find us at the gym, on a road trip, at a pool party – every occasion where fun, uplifting music is enjoyed.
